Our non-hosted Voice Over IP (VOIP) Services are provided in two flavors: one that includes hardware and one that doesn't. The flavor that includes hardware is detailed in our Small Business Phone Server page. The flavor that doesn't include hardware is billed by Tier. At the beginning of each month, the usage for the previous month (both inbound and outbound) is computed and billed according to the Tier selected for the contract term (typically, 12 months). Note that unused minutes do not carry over to the next month, and calls to toll-free numbers or numbers which do not answer are free. Calls to international numbers are billed separately as these rates change almost daily.
| Tier | Included Minutes | Base Cost | Overage per Minute* | Breakpoint** |
| 1 | 0 | $0.00 | $0.040 | 1500 |
| 2 | 2000 | $60.00 | $0.020 | 3500 |
| 3 | 5000 | $90.00 | $0.015 | 7000 |
| 4 | 10000 | $120.00 | $0.010 | n/a |
*This rate is cut by 50% by using Bitnetix's IceVox shared VOIP service rather than installing a VOIP server at your site.
**The Breakpoint is the point at which the next highest Tier would be less money than the lower numbered Tier.
For instance, if you used 1200 minutes in one month, a Tier 1 plan will cost $48.00. Tier 2, 3, or 4 would cost $60, $90, or $120, respectively. If you used 4000 minutes, a Tier 1 plan will cost $160, a Tier 2 plan would cost $100, while Tier 3 and 4 plans would cost $90 and $120, respectively. 12000 minutes would cost $480, $260, $195, or $140, respectively.
Clients can choose to pay an additional $5.00 per month per incoming DID (phone number) or $10.00 per month for outbound only for the ability to automatically switch between Tiers. In this case, the bill will be based on whichever Tier provides the lowest cost for each month. In the examples above, 1200 minutes would be Tier 1, 4000 minutes would be Tier 3, and 12000 minutes would be Tier 4.
Federal law requires that dialing 911 from a phone connected to the public telephone network will connect to a Public Safety Access Point (PSAP). To be able to do this over VOIP, Bitnetix partners with a registry of E911 service providers to register a DID with the physical location of the client. The fee to do this is $5.00 per month per DID, which includes a Federally mandated $1.50 E911 recovery charge. Only one DID per location is required, though there is nothing to prevent multiple DIDs from being registered if that is beneficial to the client.
Inbound caller ID, when available, is included at no additional cost. Bitnetix also pays any and all taxes, surcharges, fees, and additional expenses charged to us by our upstream providers or mandated by law, except as described above.
