Hired Guns
Bitnetix offers talented individuals the opportunity to work with our clients, flex your technical muscles, earn some money, and still be an independent contractor.  We call this our Hired Guns Program.

What does it mean to be a Bitnetix Hired Gun?  For starters, it means that you decide when you are "on the clock" and when you are not.  You decide which projects you will work on.  You decide if you think you are up to the challenge or not.  All we do is coordinate the work with the client, screen our potential Hired Guns to determine their skill sets, set you up with a W-9 as an independent contractor, and turn you loose.  Oh, and then we pay you.

How does it work?  We have a group of Hired Guns that gets notified when there are new opportunities.  Those that are interested in the work are selected by Bitnetix staff for the proper knowledge, how they will fit in with the client, and work schedules.  Once a Gun is matched up with a job, the work is performed, Bitnetix bills the client, and the Gun gets paid.

What kind of "opportunities" are there?  It varies.  It is basically short-term, "one-off" type things that Bitnetix wants to be able to respond quickly to.  That means things like equipment installations, after-hour support, and so forth.  With our in-house integrated phone system, we can also offer our clients seamless phone support while the calls are actually going to our Hired Guns cell phones!

What do I need to do if I'm interested?  You can start by joining the Hired Guns mailing list.  You are not going to be hired as an employee of Bitnetix or our any of our clients.  We will have you sign an independent contractor agreement and non-disclosure, and we will need a W-9 filled out, but you can keep your day (or night) job and still be one of our Hired Guns.  Your participation in the Hired Guns program is completely voluntary and we will never share our list of gunslingers with anyone unless legally compelled to.
